Jacobus Swart
He graduated in Electrical Engineering and got a PhD at Escola Politécnica from the University of São Paulo in 1975 and 1981 respectively. He did pos-doc programs at Catholique University of Leuven, Belgium (1982-1983) and at Research Triangle Institute, USA (1991). He is a full professor at the State University of Campinas, since May 1997. After retiring in june 2013, he continued as collaborating professor at FEEC/UNICAMP. His experience is in the field of Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in materials and semiconductor devices, mainly on the following subjects: Si and GaAs integrated circuit technologies, CMOS, HBT, thin films, plasma etching and nanoelectronics. He was president of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society for two terms. He was member of CA-EE of CNPq for two terms and also member of the Deliberative Council of CNPq for 4 years. He is Distinquished Lecturer, chair of EDS Subcommittee for Regions/Chapters (SRC) for Region 9 and elected member of the Board of Governors of the Electron Device Society of IEEE. He is Fellow of IEEE. He was the coordinator of the IC-Brazil Program of MCTI from 2007 to 2013 and the coordinator of the NAMITEC research network since 2001, first under the Millennium Institute program and latter under the INCT program of CNPq.The proposal submitted in the Call INCT - MCTI / CNPq / CAPES / FAPs no. 16/2014 received funding recommendation (position 108) and was awarded with INCT Stamp certificate by CNPq. In 2013 he opened a company JW Swart Innovation in Semiconductors for which he acts as a consultant, mainly dedicated to work for imec from Belgium. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
