Pawel Strumillo
Pawel Strumillo received the Ph.D. degree in technical sciences from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K. in 1993, and D.Sc. degree (habilitation) in electronics from the Technical University of Lodz (TUL), Poland in 2002. Currently, he holds the position of professor at TUL and is the head of the Medical Electronics Division. His research interests include: processing of biomedical and acoustic signal, computational intelligence and human-computer interaction systems. He has authored more than 100 publications in these fields. He has been principal and co-principal investigator of research grants on electronic systems aiding the blind in independent travel. Results of these projects were awarded at international innovation exhibitions. He has also received a number of industry grants from the Orange Telecommunications Group. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and member of board of the Polish Neural Network Society.
