This chapter focuses on exploring the impact of colonization on South Africa, with a specific focus on the Vhavenda community. The chapter aims to examine the role of African Indigenous Knowledge Systems in achieving restorative justice. The impact of colonization on the Vhavenda community is a complex issue that has had various impacts on their socioeconomic, cultural, and political development. The chapter uses a literature review research method, which involves a comprehensive examination of existing literature and scholarly works related to the research topic. The findings of this research suggest that the exploitation of the Vhavenda community has had severe adverse effects that continue to affect their lives to this day.
